As a child I always leaned towards my creative side. From drawing, coloring, scrapbooking; to jewelry making, homemade birthday cards and poster boards. My gifts were always homemade, and they always had to sparkle. It all started with my first mural, all over my grandmother’s wall. I learned to write in cursive before I could write my name in print. I have always been one who spends their time daydreaming and doodling, and I find it hard to only stay in the present. Being able to create, design, develop, and pull from my ideas keeps my focus and allows me to stay present. Graphic design contributes to my self expression and keeps me engaged. I took graphic design on as a whim in hopes that I would eventually enjoy it. After working on a variety of different designing aspects, I have learned to love it.
As a designer, I take what I’m given, and I expand on it. I believe research and process making are the key to success. Your designs can only be as good as your process, which means you always be creating. I believe there’s always room for improvement and creativity is limitless. I hope to continue discovering new ideas and creating new designs that contribute to quality and effectiveness.
Being a graphic designer challenges my creativity and allows me to step out of my comfort zone and continue to grow. From a sheet of paper to a computer screen, I have so much more to learn. I would say my personality is represented throughout my designs; however, it can be incorporated. I would consider my personal style to be sleek and simple but unique. I use my designs as a way to show expression and capture my creative essence My main goal it’s for my work to convey to convey and reflect their quality along with what are intended to convey. I hope to create and design in ways that are compelling and intriguing to its viewer.
