I am a graphic designer who is goal driven and determined to create cohesive and beautiful designs that solve the client’s problem. I try to echo what my client wants in my designs through my design process – inspiration, sketches, digital sketches, communicating with client, and continued sketches and client critiques. Most if not all my decisions come from feedback from the client or other designers along with my personal expertise. I tend to use clean vector artwork along with cohesive typography the matches the project’s identity.
In my work as a collective, I strive to emphasize the main idea of the work and keep the audience engaged and interested. As a series, I attempt to communicate the specific idea in a concise way while being objective as much as possible. At this point in my career, I have no consistent themes in my work.
As a graphic designer, we have an impact on society. Design can improve society as it conveys a message to the public, persuading them to do something, or informing them of something. A graphic designer’s intent should be to communicate specific ideas to a mass audience, society, aiming to persuade the viewer or expose suppressed information objectively. To be a good graphic designer, I believe you should act as a conduit for transmitting information to the public.
The ultimate objective for a graphic designer is to create an effective and innovative design that conveys the desired idea. I see design as an artistic way of communication. To me, it is one of the most important aspects of the world. I feel there should also be some rules a designer should follow, specifically, designers should be neutral in designs as much as possible, unless, of course, they are trying to persuade an audience.
I balance self-expression and client needs by focusing on the client first. To me, the client is the top priority. Expressing yourself in your work allows for more unique designs but the client may not always agree with my design decision, so I am flexible. At this point in my career, I don’t think I have a specific style in all my works, rather I have similar inspiration. My inspiration mainly comes from modern graphic design, Swiss graphic design, and minimalistic graphic design. With this, my work is intended to be functional and convey a message.
Some designers like to push the limits of legibility in their designs, altering typography or forms to create interesting compositions, but I feel it is necessary to keep a design as legible as possible. If the viewer can’t read or understand what is in my work, then I have failed to create a good design.
In branding, there are specific things to keep in mind. Capturing the brand’s identity is one of the most important and essential aspects. The type of business they are matters as it should influence the brand the most. The history should also play a part in the branding, creating a sense or feel for the history in the brand.  Color and type are developed based on these aspects as well. Furthermore, the client, or business, is a large part of the creative process as well.
